It doesn't do anything that you can't do by hand, but it can save you a whole lot of time - whether it is priced right or not depends on a.) the value of your time and b.) the amount of time it will end up saving. The key being that even here it is significantly faster than manual creation of your maps.Īs for cost - I would consider it to be in the same classification of software as the procedural city tool that was mentioned on this forum the other day. The results are comparable to manual creation - especially if you spend the time to use it as a tool rather than just treating it like one click creation. Anyway, in my experience it is very useful software for making a lot of the tedious process of textures -> maps reasonably quick. I purchased CrazyBump when it came out of beta ( I had already been using it in Parallels and read that you could convert your license to a Mac license when it is released ).
